Tue, 18 November 2008 Hi folks, I'd like to draw your attention to a new addition to the links. This new link will take you to the website of Alison Skelton who is one of Robin Skelton's daughters. She has been involved in Wicca since before her father...Robin, while a worker of spells for many years didn't embrace Witchcraft as a religion until relatively late in his life. She is a visual artist (check out her stunning paintings!), a healer, counsellor, teacher, a founding Priestess of the Thirteenth House Mystery Tradition, founder of the Oroboros project that works to bring together those who wish to work in a group context (focused in the Victoria, B.C. area right now), and an Eclectic Shaman, currently training in "Core Shamanism". I haven't met Alison in person yet...I'm hoping to partake in one or more of the many courses that she teaches over in Victoria. Please check out her site and get a glimpse of her fascinating, unique path. Remember your Muse this weekend! All Blessings Be, --Jay O' Category: podcasts -- posted at: 11:44 PM Comments[0] |
Wed, 12 November 2008 (clutches pointy hat in hands, looks guiltily at the floor...) I forgot to mention someone who wrote an email to me shortly after the release of Episode 2. This is someone who has been mentioned more than once on many podcasts. Thanks to HedonsDog for the great email! He had kind words for the show, was able to point me to the podcast alley URL for Witchery of One, and was able to tell me that Deo and Mandy's lives were taking them away from podcasting. Mon, 10 November 2008 Here it is...Episode 3! In this episode I share a frightening experience with the Conjuration of the Watcher from the "Simon" Necronomicon. I do a few shout-outs, share another of Robin Skelton's "Words for Witches" and talk a bit about "Musemass". I also give a very brief description of what a "tuque" (pronounced "too-k") is to my non-Canadian listeners. Check out the links below to explore the weird and wonderful world of the Necronomicon... http://www.mystae.com/restricted/streams/scripts/necronomicon.html http://www.lovecraft.ru/texts/necro/simon_eng/index.html http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Simon_Necronomicon http://www.necfiles.org/simon.htm All Blessings Be! --Jay O' Comments[4] |
Thu, 30 October 2008 Hi folks, I hope that the approach of Samhain finds you well and whole! I'd hoped to release the story of my dabbling with the "Simon" Necronomicon for Hallowe'en, but that is not likely to happen. Perhaps in the next week. (This is a tongue-in-cheek recollection of a quite frightening experience, folks...despite the fact that the "Simon Necronomicon" is itself a "hoax".) Please go and vote for the Wigglian Way at the Podcast Awards...Mojo and Sparrow deserve a win...and as Mojo said on the recently released Episode 41 a vote for them is a vote for the Goddess (She will not likely be represented by any of the other podcasts in the Religion and Inspiration category). Sun, 12 October 2008 In this episode I make some corrections/additions for episode 1, I throw in my two cents worth on the whole Wicca vs. Witchcraft debate, I name a few of the books on my mother's shelf when I was 14 (by such authors as Madame Blavatsky, Edgar Cayce and Torkom Saraydarian), I talk about "Helping Yourself with White Witchcraft" by Al G. Manning, I introduce the "Skeltonian" feast of Eldmas, and I close with another of Robin Skelton's "Words for Witches".I hope you like... All Blessings Be! --Jay O' Comments[4] |
Thu, 25 September 2008 ![]() I wanted to upload an image of "the Sorcerer" that is featured in Positive Magic. I remember the "statue" I made out of cardboard was copied from this image. It's to the far right of the picture. Included (to the left) is the statue made by British artist Neil Sims. I bought the statue as an unfinished cast resin piece through Frontier Models and painted it myself as well as made a new base out of clay with an inset quartz crystal. Finished pieces are also available through various UK occult shops. Just Google "Neil Sims, Horned God, statue". After searching around for a statue of the Horned Lord this was the one that best fit the way I see Him. All Blessings Be! Category: podcasts -- posted at: 9:42 PM Comments[0] |
Mon, 22 September 2008 After much twiddling and fiddling, grunting and groaning, cussing and hair pulling I've managed to re-modifiy my Libsyn template so that I can now easily upload posts and you lovely folks can leave your comments! Tue, 16 September 2008 So after posting the first episode of the podcast I realize that there
are a few things that I would revise, but won't for the sake of not
confusing iTunes or Podcast pickle: first off, I would reduce the levels for the music so that the vocal track comes through clearer... next I would actually talk more about the origins of the word "Wicca" as I believe Marion Weinstein called it "directly translated from the Celtic...", I think its origins are in fact Anglo-Saxon... Next I would mention that Marion Weinstein has about 20 videos up on YouTube...she's one vivacious lady!...check out the video where she's reciting anti-Bush poetry with the Traveling Band of Gypsies... Wed, 10 September 2008 Welcome to the first episode of the Witchery of One, a podcast that
focuses on the experiences, practices, and opinions of one witch...me!
In listening to so many great podcasts out there in Witchdom a desire
to contribute something of my own has grown. I am particularly fond of
a few podcasts: Deo's Shadow, the Crooked Path, and the Wigglian Way
are my favourites. There are many other great podcasts out there and I
hope to get familiar with them over time, but right now I focus on
getting up to speed on these three. I'm a busy guy with a full life. I live on one of the Gulf Islands that separates Vancouver Island from the B.C. Mainland...yup, that's right, Mojo and Sparrow, I'm a B.C. boy and fellow Canuck. I hope you enjoy it, All Blessings Be! --Jay O' Comments[1] |
